Fogato is a small food business in Los Angeles run by Kala Fejzo. This page explains what personal information we collect, why, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. Questions: kala@fogatola.com.
What we collect and why

We use AI
Some features in Mise use artificial intelligence: Claude, made by Anthropic. That includes the "Ask Fogato" chat when Kala's own tips don't cover a question, recipe ideas from what you have, "Picked by Claude" suggestions, fridge scans and "does it look done?". AI answers are labelled in the app and can be wrong. What you send to these features goes to Anthropic to produce the answer. Anthropic doesn't use it to train its models, and keeps it only briefly under its commercial terms.
Cookies and analytics
We use only what the site needs to work: a sign-in cookie for Mise, your cart, and your cookie choice, all stored on your own device. If you click Accept on the cookie banner, we also load Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and page speed. It doesn't use cookies to follow you to other sites. If you click Reject, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, it never loads. You can change your choice any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page.
We do not use advertising pixels, and we do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Who helps us
These service providers process data for us only to provide their service:
- Cloudflare: hosting, security and (with your consent) analytics
- Square: payments, subscriptions and order records
- Resend: sending sign-in codes and order emails
- Anthropic: the AI that writes recipes and answers in Mise
- Google: web fonts, and a Google Sheet where we keep our newsletter and enquiry list
- Instacart: only if you tap "Shop on Instacart", which sends your shopping list there
How long we keep it
Mise account data is kept until you delete your account. Order and payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights (including California residents)
You can ask to know what personal information we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, or delete it. You can also opt out of any sale or sharing (we don't do either). In Mise you can delete your account and its data yourself from the account screen. For anything else, email kala@fogatola.com. We'll confirm who you are by replying to the email on file, and we won't treat you differently for using these rights. You can also ask someone you authorise to make a request for you.
Children
Our sites aren't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above. For big changes, we'll tell account holders by email.
